“We got around 20 good leads on the first day of the show, and did a deal yesterday that will give us our return on investment on the whole show. The Northern Show is always about good quality leads for us, and it’s about seeing customers and friends. There are always plenty of deals done at the bar, too!”
Andy Hollingworth, Opal
“We’ve had some good quality leads. It’s an odd time at the moment with the market conditions, so it’s good to see so many people here, weathering the storm. It has been very worthwhile us coming here, and it’s good value for money. Convergence Summit North is certainly establishing itself as one of the major shows in the industry, and in fact is the only one left since its main rival dropped out. This market has been left wide open for Miles Publishing.”
Mark Salvin, CEO, Fused Group
“As ever, an excellent event. The calibre of delegates is always good and we look forward to the Southern show!”
Ruth Davey. Marketing Manager, Fused Group
“The show has been great, we’ve found it busier than the Southern Show which is brilliant. People have been coming to us about specific issues we can help them with, which I think is indicative of the environment; if you’ve got products that people need that will provide differentiation and help them now, and will still help on the other side of the recession, you’ll do well.”
Paul Fullman, UK Sales Director, Datasharp
“We’re getting the right type of people coming to see us, and no time wasters. We’ve been looking for around 30 to 50 resellers for our new BlackBerry business version of our product, and on the first day of the Show we got almost 50 quality leads.”
John Irvine, Truphone
“It’s been great! I was hoping to sign up half a dozen resellers and I signed eight on the first day. Everyone that’s seen my demo wants in. I’m really pleased with how it’s gone; I’ve had queues of people at my stand.”
Chris Everitt, Managing Director, TMAC
“It’s been busy; we came in with the expectation of signing three to five resellers, but it looks like we’ve signed considerably more than that.” On what dealers had been talking to him about, he added: “There’s been a lot of talk about moving form mobile into fixed line voice, and vice versa, but that’s only coming of age now. Applications that sit on top of the mobile almost bypass the need to deploy infrastructure, and it makes it simple for mobile dealers to work with. There’s huge cross over now.”
Chris Croft, business consultant, Teleware
“Having just launched, this is one of the first events that Romex has attended. The show was a huge success for us. We enjoyed introducing our new product, meeting individuals from the industry and networking. Our prospect book is full of good quality leads. The Mobile Application Zone was particularly effective, with each individual company having their own pod space, allowing visitors the ability to discuss their requirements in informal surroundings. All in all a successful couple of days.”
Jason Laight, sales director, Romex
“Convergence Summit North is a well organised event utilising integrated marketing techniques from print, to DM, SMS, video and web campaigns to attract northern resellers. The event is managed with military precision to make exhibiting easy, yet manages to create a relaxed atmosphere for networking and business meetings. It is a great platform for launching products and we were able to get valuable feedback from existing and new channel partners on our MPLS IPVPN networking solutions, new multi-carrier provisioning platform and rewarding rebate scheme.”
Cherie Everett, Marketing Manager, Griffin Internet
“In this current economic downturn, we were concerned visitor numbers would be down, however how wrong! On Tuesday we couldn't keep up with the sheer number of people who visited our stand! It was such a brilliant day! What credit crunch?? WELL DONE to Comms Business again for yet another fabulous show……the western themed evening went down a storm, everyone had such a good time!.....Heres to more of the same in 2010!”
Jane Leahy, Trust Distribution Ltd
“The show was a great success for us. We picked up several good leads and I think it is quite likely that we will pick up 4 or 5 deals from it. Thanks for your efforts and for the support you have given to Union Street. You can absolutely count us in for the next show.”
Tony Cook, Managing Director, Union Street Technologies Ltd
“Unsurpassed in terms of organization and professionalism. Very clean and well laid out venue, easy to park and access. Good for networking with other manufactures, solution providers, distributors.”
Charles Williams, Interquartz
“I would like to thank Comms Business for another well organised and well attended event. It is very hard at times to gauge the Return On Investment accurately when carrying out any marketing but I can honestly say it is 12.45pm on the Thursday after the show and I have had my first order placed by a reseller we have never dealt with. Brilliant!!!!!!”
Justin Blaine, Managing Director, NeoWave Distribution
“Convergence Summit North exceeded our expectations on all fronts. We have generated some great sales leads from it and it was also a great opportunity to catch up with many existing clients.”
Tony Cook, Managing Director, Union Street Technologies Ltd
“As a first time exhibitor at the Convergence Summit North, Nine Telecom Group were delighted with how the show went and look forward to attending October’s Southern Summit. Dealers and Resellers were very keen to discuss how Nine Telecom Group could help them with their telecom solutions, especially in our advances in new technology and the Groups strong customer ethics.”
Barbara Jones, Nine Telecom Group
“VanillaIP has supported the Convergence Summit for many years and recently I have noticed that reseller have become very keen to talk to us. Many have ‘been around the loop’ when it comes to VoIP and seen many suppliers and looked and even more options for their business. Now they are keen to get involved in the market. Undoubtedly we will be taking on more resellers as a direct result of being at the Convergence Summit – the show has always delivered real value for VanillaIP and the opportunity to take part in the education seminars is brilliant for us and visitors alike.”
Dave Dadds. Managing Director, VanillaIP
“Add to that general bustle the fact that we have just landed two very large Shoretel system orders and it means I’ve had a very very busy time at the Summit. We have recorded many sales leads for new offices and dealers to be followed up after the show.
The Shoretel system has gained a lot of traction with our partners since we took it in to our portfolio at the end of 2008. It’s simple really. The Shoretel product is reliable, is choc full of features and highly scalable. Two features I would note as being business winners are the Shoretel client for Blackberry which enables users to hear voicemails and remotely activate desk phone diversions.”
Rob Carter, Managing Director, Datasharp
“We are looking for new business in billing but are also providing other products and services in what is looking like a channel carrier grab. We have flexible payment structures and we are introducing new products. The Convergence Summit provides us an opportunity to talk to resellers and in particular we are looking to recruit three type of partner. Smaller resellers without the resources to have their own billing solution or distributors and VARs without billing, Medium size traditional resellers where Tempest can no offer them managed services and outsourced options and at the top end of the channel larger players looking for a scalable IM platform.”
